The Annual Stuff the Bus campaign this year for DCPS and OPS will be held Monday, July 31 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Representatives from both Davies County and Owensboro Public Schools districts will be on-site at both Owensboro Walmart locations (Hwy 54 and Frederica St.). You can deliver your supplies to either location as they will be split between the two school districts.
If you are unable to make it during the event, supplies can be dropped off at either district's Central Office location.

We frantically need your help and it only takes about 3 minutes or less! Our school's Title I budget amounts are based upon the number of students who qualify for free and/or reduced lunches. This year breakfasts and lunches will be free for all elementary students but we will still need families to make sure they sign up here just in case they might qualify! https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Megan Thompson to the Burns Elementary teaching staff! She comes to us with 13 years of teaching experience and she is looking forward to be back teaching in her hometown.
Megan has many hobbies, including reading, watching and playing sports, crafting, and taking her rambunctious dog Legend for walks and on other adventures.
She will be a great addition to our awesome teaching staff as a 3rd grade teacher. She is excited to be a part of the bobcat team! Congratulations Ms. Megan Thompson and welcome to our Bobcat family!


Please join us in welcoming Ms. Shelby Boone to the Burns Elementary teaching staff! Shelby is eager to start her first year growing as a teacher and is looking forward to learning with her students and her colleagues.
Shelby loves spending time with her family, especially her nephews and beautiful little niece. She likes being outdoors in her free time, either reading or sitting by the pool. She is so excited for all the new relationships and friendships she will build this year and she is thrilled to be working with her sister, Ally Bell, here at BES!
She will be a great addition to our awesome teaching staff as a 1st grade teacher. Congratulations Ms. Shelby Boone and welcome to our Bobcat family!


Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Kacie Carter to the Burns Elementary teaching staff! Kacie comes with 12 years of teaching experience and has a passion for technology and helping others. She loves finding new ways to engage students and sharing and collaborating with her colleagues.
Kacie is married and has 2 daughters. She is competitive and loves crafting, spending time at the lake, and coaching her daughters in soccer.
She will be a great addition to our teaching staff as a 5th grade teacher!

We would like to welcome Mr. Chris Cook as the new Assistant Principal at Burns Elementary for the 2023- 2024 school year. Mr. Cook started his teaching career here at Burns in 2008. He has taught every grade level K-5 over the last 15 years. Mr. Cook as well respected by our entire school community and we know he will be very successful in his role next year. Our leadership team is looking forward to welcoming all of our Bobcats back in August!


We hope everyone has a great summer! We will miss our Bobcats and can't wait to see you back in August!
