
5th grade headed to the southwest region today! We stopped at the Grand Canyon, Carlsbad Caverns, the Alamo, and had some Fritos at Frito Lay headquarters in Plano, Texas! Tomorrow we are heading to our last stop—out West! 🚗💙


Preschool celebrated Red Day this week to help learn their colors!



4th graders have been sorting money and counting values up to 1 million in math this week!


Parents... Family Follow Up Night is Thursday, August 31st! Food for the first 240 will be in the cafeteria starting at 5:00pm. Classroom presentations are at 5:30pm and 6:00pm and will focus on Curriculum, Assessment, Classroom Expectations, Homework and more. Everything you need to know and ways you can support your child at home, too!

4th grade was exploring the circulatory system this week to learn about our literal hearts!










5th grade started their regions roadtrip today with visiting the northeast region of the United States! We got our boarding passes and made stops in New York City, Washington DC, Hershey, Pennsylvania, and Plymouth Rock! Can’t wait to see where our adventures takes us tomorrow!

We are excited to announce that Burns Elementary has been awarded Family Friendly Certification for the 2nd year in a row! We look forward to continuing our partnership with families this school year.

Mrs. Ward's class learned more about their classmates by playing musical chairs this week. Whoever missed a chair had to answer a question about themself. They had a blast!

We kicked off our Paragon fundraiser today! Be on the lookout for the packet coming home! Students were able to see the prizes they can win for selling items. Orders are due September 8th.











We can't wait to see everyone that comes to the Multicultural Festival tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 19 from 10AM -4PM. This is a free community event. We will have a table with members from our Mental Health team there.


Mrs. Jennings' Kindergarten class made friendship bracelets today to symbolize our school family after they finished reading, Our Class is a Family!

Emiko Gogo is an exchange student from Japan. She visited our Preschool classroom today and taught the students about Origami and how to speak some Japanese words!
