We are already at the end of February. This year is flying by. Parents, we want you to know about a couple of exciting events coming in the near future. Our PTO will begin our annual World's Finest Chocolate Fundraiser on Monday. Also, our Someone Special dance is scheduled for Friday, March 7. Your student has the chance to bring Someone Special with them to our school sock hop! Join us for a fun-filled evening at our Sock Hop on March 7th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM! 🕺💃 We'll have: 🎧 Music with DJ Basham spinning the best tunes! 📸 A fun Selfie Station to capture your memories! 🧁 Delicious cupcakes & refreshments! Feel free to wear your best 50's attire or whatever makes you feel comfortable. No need to go out and buy anything special! We just want everyone to have a great time and enjoy the evening together as a community. ❤️ Mark your calendars and get ready to dance, laugh, and make lasting memories with your family and friends! 🏫✨ Please limit one guest per student!

Thank you families for your support during DCPS@Home Days. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will be in session from here on. Just a reminder that we are celebrating Kindness Month and we are looking for students showing kindness to each other. A couple of reminders------- *NO SCHOOL on MONDAY, FEBRUARYT 17th. *Due to the potential of winter weather early next week, the district has made the decision to go ahead and send chromebooks and chargers home with students today. *Spring Picture Day is February 27th, as well as 5th grade graduation pictures. If you have already ordered on-line or sent your money in, you are good to go. Nothing changed on the new order forms sent home except the date.

WLES Spring picture day and graduation (5th grade only) has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 27th. Be on the lookout for new order forms to be coming home as soon as we receive them from Lifetouch.

Make plans to dine in or carryout from Texas Roadhouse tonight, Feb. 10th. Be sure to show them the attached flyer so our school will receive 10% of the sales!!

Kindness is blooming at WLES. February is Kindness month and our students are showing kindness to staff members and with other students. We ove seeing students helping other students in the classroom, cafeteria, hallways, etc. Just a reminder that the Valentine's Day Store is open to orders and our "Because I Love You" Breakfast is on the 14th. Also, join us Monday night at Texas Roadhouse. See the attached flyer for all the details. Enjoy your weekend and we will see everyone on Monday.

We have had another great week! Huge shout out to our Academic Team students and coaches. They are competing this weekend in District competition and we wish them all the best. Just a reminder that the DCPS Kindness Month kicks off on Monday. We will be looking for students showing kindness to others all month. In addition, if you are interested, we have our Valentine's Day Store opening on Monday. Lastly, our "Because I love you" breakfast is on the 14th. What a great week! Huge shout out to our youngest tigers as they definitely put us in the Holiday Spirit with their program. Also, thank you to the WLES Community for coming to our Holiday Meal. Congratulations to our primary students as they completed their MAP testing this week. We have 3 days next week until we will take time off to celebrate the Holiday Season. Have a great weekend.

Thanks to all of our parents/community for your support of the WLES Holiday Drive. We will be able to help several families over the Holiday season with your donations. Thank you! Also, big shout out to our older students for their hard work on the Winter MAP tests. They worked very hard. This week our younger students will do their MAP Tests and will highlight their talents during the Holiday Performance on Tuesday. Stay warm and enjoy your weekend.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

We had a great week with our annual Reading and Craft Night and the Thanksgiving luncheon. We have many things to be thankful for this Holiday Season including the support of the WLES community. Thank you for your generosity to our school. Just a reminder that we are only in session for two days next week due to Thanksgiving. I hope you have a great weekend.
