The trees outside are finally changing, and it is one of my favorite times of the year! I just wish there was a way to pause the trees in this stage! We want to thank everyone that came out and participated in our Veterans Day Celebration. Honoring our veterans is a very important tradition for our school and community. we want to make sure our students learn the importance of honoring these heroes for our country. OurSTOCK THE PANTRY FOOD DRIVE is off to a great start, but we want to see even more classes participate! Any donation helps our students and the community by providing resources for the FRC to distribute. the donations earn points for their homeroom class! I can't wait to see who earns the pizza party! Thank you for your support and have a great weekend!

Happy Halloween! I hope everyone has a fun and safe time tonight if your family ventures out to Trick or Treat. Thank you to everyone that came out to our Trunk or Treat on Tuesday. We had an amazing turn out, even with the weather. I do want to take a moment to apologize for the drizzly atmosphere. We needed to make a decision after school ended, so we checked the forecast and it said 0% chance of rain from 3:30-8:00pm. I made the decision to keep it outside! The forecast lied...LOL! The important thing is that everyone stayed safe and had a fun night with their Tiger Family!
Don't forget about our Veteran's Day Ceremony coming up on November 7th.
Also, please take time to fill out the School Safety Survey that was sent out in last Friday’s newsletter.

The kids have done an amazing job in returning back to school after Fall Break, ready to learn! It was great to see so many parents in the building last night for our first night of Parent/Teacher Conferences. Just a reminder that we are holding Report Cards for the conferences. If you didn't make it this week we hope to see you next Thursday Night.
We are always looking at ways to improve the safety of our school building and school environment. In order to continue improving in this area, we are participating in a voluntary school safety audit this fall. We would like for all stakeholders to have a voice in this audit. I would like for all parents of West Louisville Students to use this link to complete a short survey, https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FY26WestLouisvilleDaviessParents. This information will be used to help
us guide decision-making moving forward in regards to school safety! I want to thank you in advance for your participation in this survey.
One final reminder....No Costumes are allowed at school on Halloween. They can save the fun for our WLES Trunk or Treat and Friday Night!

Our annual Trunk or Treat event is coming up next week on Tuesday, October 28th.
Make plans to attend and be sure to come hungry. There will be chili and hot dogs in the cafteria (while supplies last).
See the attached flyer for times and info if you'd like to set-up a trunk to participate in Trick-or-Treating.

Happy Fall Break, Tiger Family! I hope this message finds you planning some time to enjoy your family and get some rest over the next week. Whether you are traveling or just staying home, I hope you find joy and laughter each day. My family will be staying home and enjoying some time hunting, fishing, and racing RC trucks and then ending the week with the DCHS marching band. As we move into the 2nd 9 weeks, we have a lot of great events coming up to partner with our families and community! We hope to see everyone out for our Parent/Teacher Conferences, Trunk or Treat, Veterans Day Celebration, and other events as we get closer to the holidays. Check out the rest of the newsletter for all of the details. We'll see you back on October 20th!
Have a Great Week!

What a great week our tigers have had at school! The students have been hard at work this week learning about reading, math, science, social studies and so much more! As we approach the end of the nine weeks, we will be entering grades and wrapping up loose ends. This is a great time to make sure any missing registration or immunization forms are returned and turn in any doctor excuses for absences. Thank you all so much for an excellent start to the school year!

Tiger Family,
Thanks to everyone who was able to come out and take part in our curriculum night! Congrats to Jerome Pruden and Grayson Cattoor for winning our Family Fun Movie Night baskets. If you missed curriculum night, please see the attached flyer for information on the curriculum we are using here at WLES! If you have any questions, please reach out!

Thank you all for making our Fall Festival a HUGE success! We raised over $6000 for our PTO and had loads of fun with our family and community in the process. Up next, we have our Family Curriculum Night this coming Tuesday! We hope you will join us for a free meal, along with a chance to learn about Title 1 Funding, SEL, Arts Classes, and what the day-to-day curriculum looks like for your child. Just two more weeks until Fall Break and the end of the first 9 weeks! Let's work hard to finish the first quarter strong!

Thank you for a great 4-day week of school! Don't forget that tomorrow is a PD Day for teachers and a day off for students. Tonight is our Fall Festival, so we hope to see everyone come out and enjoy a perfect night together with your Tiger Family. There will be food, games, inflatables, a hay ride, and a silent auction. Remember it only costs $5/student to enjoy all of the games and inflatables. Next week we will be back to work for our last 15 days of instruction before Fall Break. We will be starting our WIN time groups next week as well. These groups are intentionally focused instructional groups that will help us meet the needs of all students in a more precise setting. We can't wait to start down this next road of our journey to success!
