Our students are rocking and rolling with success this week! It has been great to see every class hard at work each day and digging
into their content! I want to take a moment to thank all of our families for a very smooth start to the school year with registration,
student fees, paperwork and school supplies! Your support from home has helped us kick off this school year with success! We have a few clubs starting up for the school year (Running, Cheer, Orff Ensemble), so please make sure to send a note for your child each week with permission to stay for the club and details on how they will get home. We are excited to offer all of these great opportunities for our students!
Fall Festival is less than a month away, so if you own a business or have any connections for donations we would love your support!
Next week is going to be an amazing week!

Our first full week of school has been amazing! Every class has been diving into Reading, Writing and Math for this school year
along with learning how to Be a Tiger each day! I want to give a huge shoutout to Mrs. Shain for planning our 2026 Ag Day! It was a
morning full of memories for every single student! We also want to thank the Apollo High School FFA and all of our community
partners for making the day possible. This is just another great example of what makes West Louisville a great community to live
and serve in!
Stay cool this weekend and make sure that the kids stay hydrated through the heat!

It's that time of year!! The Scholastic Book Fair will be here in September. I am looking for volunteers the week of Sept. 21-25th. This will also be our Grandparents Week celebration. If you are interested in helping that week, please message me back, and we will work on a schedule. Thank you so much, Tiger Family!

Welcome Back Tiger Families!!
Our school year is off to an amazing start! It has been so nice to welcome all of the students back in the building! Smiles,

Testing time has passed, and celebration time has kicked in!! Our 3rd Grade, 1st Grade, and Kindergarten students did an amazing job testing this week! We are so proud of their hard work! Please make sure to send your child prepared for Field Day/Water Day on Monday! They will need to bring a towel and a change of clothes. No school on Tuesday for Election Day, and then the whole school is headed to Malco on Wednesday to finish celebrating our candy bar sales success! We will end the day Wednesday with a schoolwide awards ceremony! Thursday we will close out the year with our 5th Grade Graduation and some last day fun with homeroom teachers. Our staff is already looking forward to next school year, and we can't wait to see how much the students grow over the summer! 3 more school days left!!

Our 4th and 5th grade Tigers absolutely brought their A game for KSA testing this week! They worked hard all week long

off their knowledge and rock the test too! Wednesday and Thursday will be make-up days for anyone that missed a day of

Welcome to May! KSA testing will be happening daily this week for 4th and 5th grade, so please do your best to support the students with plenty of sleep, a good meal, and lots of positive energy! Our students have worked extremely hard this year, and we can't wait to let them shine bright on the KSA Test and show everyone else how much they can achieve! Our 3rd graders will test the following week, so they are continuing to work hard and learn every day right along with our Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade students. Once testing is wrapped up, we have tons of fun in store for the students, so let's finish the year strong and enjoy our time together. If you haven't finished your online registration for next year, please get that completed as soon as possible to help plan for success next year.
Have a Great Weekend!

Can you all believe we have already reached the end of April? The school year is winding down fast, but we are still working hard! We kicked off our testing season with a fun assembly from Remix!! They reminded the students to get plenty of sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and always arrive on time!! They also talked about always having a great attitude with testing and trying your best, even when it gets really hard! We hope that you will help support our students from home by reminding them of these things each day! I want to give a huge shoutout to Mr. Wilson, Mrs. Tapp, Mrs. Thompson, and Mr. Jackson for a great K/1st grade performance! It was a fantastic display of all of the musical skills the students have learned this year! Only 18 more days of school!!
Have a Great Weekend!

What a wonderful first week back from Spring Break! The students have jumped right back into learning and they are pushing hard through our final weeks of this school year! I want to say an extra special thank you to our Kitchen Staff under the leadership of Mrs. Brenda for an amazing Easter Community meal! We had almost 200 guests in our building throughout the day, and everyone was able to eat a delicious meal with family, and leave with a smile on their faces. Community involvement is part of what makes West Louisville such a special place! As the weather continues to improve this spring, please remember that your students will be spending at least 20 minutes outside each day. Please make sure they are dressed in comfortable clothing and safe shoes for outside play! MAP testing will also begin next week, so help our students do their very best by making sure they get plenty of sleep throughout the week and arrive at school on time every day!
Next week is BOGO Book Fair week, so we can't wait to get our students excited about Reading this Summer! We also have our final performance of the year with K and 1st on Tuesday Night at 6pm!!

It has been an amazing attendance blitz for the past two weeks. We came up just a little short in the district blitz this week even
though we had the 4th highest attendance, but we did have great attendance all week long. For our School-Level Challenge, we ended
with a tie between Mrs. Luckett and Ms. Lawrence's AM Preschool, so both classes will enjoy a pizza party soon! Our candy bar sales
have been absolutely amazing, but they end next week! Please make sure you get the $80/box returned by Thursday. Also just a
reminder that Spring Break starts on Friday of this week. When we return from Spring Break, we will be focusing on MAP testing and our
final push before KSA so let's finish the year strong!!
Please take a moment and help us plan for Title 1 next year by completing the survey linked below.

March Madness is in full swing, and our students are stepping up to the challenge!! Our Attendance Blitz has been so much fun this week as we have gone head to head across the school! On Monday we will determine our school champion between Mrs. Luckett's class and Ms. Lawrence's AM class! We are also giving away a bunch of fun prizes this afternoon to students who had perfect attendance this week! Thank you to all of our families for making school a priority for our students and helping provide the most consistent education possible! Next week there is a DCPS attendance challenge, and West Louisville will face off against Audubon Elementary on Tuesday for our first round of competition! Let's show them how our Tigers roar with perfect attendance!! We also have our second night of parent-teacher conferences on Monday night. If we didn't see you on Thursday night, we hope you stop by Monday so we can share all of the amazing progress with you that your child has made this school year! Save the Date!! April 21st will be our final musical performance of the year, and it will feature our kindergarten and first grade students! We hope to see you all there to enjoy their fabulous performance!
Have a great weekend in the sunshine!

We’d like to thank Wedding Thompson Orthodontics for generously providing our student folders this year. Their continued support helps our school and allows us to direct resources toward other important needs for our students and staff. We are grateful for their investment in our school community!

What a great week here at WLES!! We have enjoyed some warm weather and learned to play fiddles, and the students have continued working hard in class each day! Next week the weather is going to take us on another roller coaster ride, so please make sure that the students are dressed appropriately for whatever weather each day brings! Next week is also our March Madness High Attendance Challenge!! Classes will go head to head each day with the attendance percentages to see which class will be crowned the Attendance Champions! The top two classes will earn 30 minutes of free time with Mr. Stone on Friday, and the top attendance class in the school will also win a pizza party! We will also be drawing names for some prizes at the end of the week for any students that have perfect attendance all week!!
Let's have a great week, Tigers!
