🍽️🧹 Meet the Team Round 2: Our Cafeteria & Custodial Staff! 🐸 Behind every great school day is an incredible team working tirelessly behind the scenes! Our custodial staff has spent the summer preparing our building and works hard each day to keep Meadow Lands Elementary clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone. Our cafeteria team starts early every morning to serve nutritious breakfasts and delicious lunches, ensuring every student is ready to learn and grow. Their dedication, hard work, and care make a difference every single day. We are so grateful for these amazing team members who help make MLES a wonderful place to learn! 💙💚

Hey Frog Friend Families! I hope my frog friends have read some amazing books this summer and are off to a great start on completing their summer reading challenge bookmarks! Mark your calendars for a fun pop-in event, Monday, July 13 from 12-2 with story times at 12:15 and 1:15.Your student can stop by, bring their bookmark, check-in and grab a popsicle and enjoy some fun summer activities outside, along with read alouds! We’ll also be giving away free books! Hope to see many of our frog friends next Monday. 🐸🎉

🐸 Welcome Back, Meadow Lands Elementary Families! The countdown to a new school year is on, and we are excited to welcome our Frog families back to Meadow Lands Elementary! We have several important events planned to help students and families feel prepared, connected, and ready for a successful school year. 📅 July 13 – Front Office Opens Beginning July 13, our front office will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Stop by if you need to: * Register a new student * Submit required paperwork * Ask questions * Receive important back-to-school information Our staff is happy to help make your family’s transition back to school as smooth as possible! 🍎 July 22 – Kindergarten Readiness Screener 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. (Drop in anytime) All incoming kindergarten students are invited to complete a Kindergarten Readiness Screener. This brief screener gives us valuable information about your child’s current skills and helps us prepare for a successful start to kindergarten. 🐸 July 27 – Kindergarten Jump Start Each incoming kindergarten student should attend one Jump Start session—either the morning or afternoon session. Jump Start is a wonderful opportunity for our newest Frogs to: * Meet their teacher before Back-to-School Night * Visit their classroom * Learn school routines and procedures * Explore different areas of the building * Build confidence and excitement before the first day of school Families are encouraged to bring school supplies to Jump Start so your child will be ready for the first day! 🖍️ July 27 – Preschool Orientation We invite all incoming preschool families to attend our Preschool Orientation. This parent and family information meeting will provide important details about the preschool program, daily routines, expectations, and ways we can partner together to ensure a great start to the school year. 🎉 July 30 – Back-to-School Night 5:00–7:00 p.m. All Meadow Lands Elementary families are invited to join us for Back-to-School Night! This is a great opportunity to: * Meet your child’s teacher * Visit classrooms * Bring school supplies * Receive transportation and bus information * Connect with staff * Learn important information for the first day of school We can’t wait to welcome our students and families back into the building! 🎉 Congratulations to our Meadow Lands students who were recognized at the Board of Education meeting for achieving English language proficiency! 🎉 We are incredibly proud of the SEVEN students who achieved this milestone and their hard work in reaching this goal! This achievement would not be possible without the support of our outstanding teachers, staff, and families who work together to help every student succeed. 💙💚🐸Way to go, Frogs! 🐸💚💙

Happy Summer frog friends… it’s now June and that means the MLES Summer Reading Challenge for June and July have officially started! Check out the video of Mrs. Fitz explaining the challenge and the fun reading website she made just for summer reading at Bit.ly/MLESsummerreading . We encourage our frog friends to read when they can and track it on their bookmark! Bring it back at the beginning of school to be entered for FUN prizes all while growing a love of reading.

It's been a month of celebrations! Over the last two weeks, we celebrated three incredible educators whose dedication, leadership, and love for students have left a lasting impact on Meadow Lands and beyond. 💚🐸 ✨ Kevin Lowe — serving as principal of Meadow Lands for 17 years, leading with commitment, a servant's heart, and a vision that helped shape generations of Frog students and staff. He leave a legacy student achieving and a strong school culture. ✨ Dana Cox — a devoted special education teacher who has tirelessly supported, encouraged, and advocated for students throughout her career. Her impact has touched students throughout all of Daviess County! ✨ Lisa Gallagher — an outstanding teacher of over 30 years who has inspired countless students through her passion for learning, student centered classroom, and dedication to developing the whole child. Thank you for your years of service, leadership, compassion, and love for kids. We wish you all the happiness, relaxation, and new adventures retirement brings! Congratulations and enjoy this well-deserved next chapter! Remember, once a FROG; always a FROG!💚🐸💙

🐸💻 Some of our Meadow Lands Frogs hopped all the way to Rupp Arena for the STLP State Competition! We are so proud of our team of 19 students who represented our school in a BIG way—presenting 3 projects, showcasing Creative Digital Arts (CDA) entries, and competing in live challenges throughout the day. Their hard work, creativity, and leadership truly shined! A special shoutout to one of our CDA projects for earning 🥈 2nd place in the entire STATE in the Feature Video category—what an incredible accomplishment! These students (along with Mrs. Fitz, Ms. Stewart, and Mrs. Scott) have dedicated countless hours all year (and even last year!) to grow their skills in technology and leadership, and it showed. We had a blast learning, collaborating, and making memories together. Way to go, Frogs! 💚🐸
