Our first graders enjoyed a special hands-on learning experience thanks to the generous donation from Reid’s Orchard!
Students painted their very own pumpkins and then connected the experience to their language and writing standards by using adjectives to describe their perfect painted pumpkins.
A HUGE thank you to Reid’s Orchard for helping us make learning memorable and giving our students an opportunity to learn, create, and have fun!

💙💚 Our Meadow Lands Choir is using their voices to make a difference! 🎶
Today, our choir had the opportunity to sing at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, supporting a cause that reaches far beyond ourselves and impacts so many individuals, families, and communities. 💜
We are so proud of our students for sharing their talents, showing compassion, and using their voices to support others. Thank you Mrs. Tucker, Mrs. Richelle, and Mrs. Nita for arranging this and working with our students.

Happy Saturday, Frog Families! We are so close to FALL BREAK! It is only 4 school days away. Just a reminder that school will not be in session October 9th - 16th. We will return to school on Monday, October 19th.
This week is full of learning and fun with our students. Rounding out the week is the 2nd and 3rd grade performance on Thursday at 12:30 and 5:30.

This week, staff had loads of fun with an "Underground Spirit Week" with a different theme for each day.
We had the best time seeing the kids' faces when they saw us. Their smiles and laughter is one of the many reasons we love our jobs!!

At Daviess County Public Schools, we want our students to leave us with the skills they need to succeed in academics and their careers.
Every student is working to develop four important competencies through our Portrait of a Learner. This month, we are focusing on being a PROBLEM SOLVER which ties into our Big 4 Expectation of being responsible.
This week students were problem solvers by: -Figuring out what happens to the motion of the ball when you change the surface -observing the world around them -finding examples of the 5 senses in books -writing speeches and campaigning for student council -hunting for words that need to double the final consonant And so much more! We are so proud of our Frogs! 🐸

🌱🐸 It’s 3rd Grade’s Turn today! 🌱🐸
Our 3rd graders had some special guests today! High school FFA students visited Meadow Lands to teach our students all about plants and what they need to grow. 🌻☀️💧
Each student got to plant their own seeds and will watch them grow.
A big THANK YOU to our local FFA students for sharing their time, knowledge, and love of agriculture with our Frogs! We love opportunities that connect learning in the classroom to the world around us. 💚💙

🌱📚 Agriculture in Education Week at MLES! 🐸💚
We are so thankful for the opportunity to celebrate Agriculture in Education Week by connecting our kindergarten students with members of our local agricultural community and high school FFA students!
Our guests visited kindergarten classrooms to read a book, share their love of agriculture, and help students complete a fun, hands-on activity!
Experiences like these help our students see the connections between what they learn at school and the incredible work happening right here in our community.

Today at Meadow Lands Elementary, our students celebrated the power of making a mark and seeing where it takes you! International Dot Day is all about creativity, courage, and reminding students that they have the power to make a difference—even with one small dot. What starts as a simple mark can grow into something amazing when you believe in yourself and take that first step! 💚💙 Our school was filled with polka dots, orange, creativity, smiles, and LOTS of dots! 🔴🟠🟡 🟢🔵🟣 What a great day to celebrate our students and remind them: Make your mark. Wow, what a week we had last week! It was WONDERFUL to have so many guests in our building for our VIP Reception, see our Frogs shine outside of school at the first cross country race, watch everyone enjoy the magic that the Book Fair brings, and join together as a school community to celebrate SPIRIT WEEK! Our school family is incredible.
