The BES preschoolers worked together to build a tower with castle blocks. Preschool provides students with an endless amount of opportunities to build positive social skills and be creative in their play. In preschool play is work!
BES preschool students enjoy working together at the sand table. Outdoor play is an important part in a preschool child's development. While outdoors students can build gross motor skills, social skills, language skills, and imaginative play skills. All of these skills help improve a child's ability to complete academic tasks in the classroom.

An unveiling ceremony of Dale Stewart Way will take place at the Apollo High School Media Center on Friday, April 19 at 4:30 PM.

This WES preschool student independently created a pattern using hearts. "Demonstrating Knowledge of Patterns" is one of the math objectives DCPS preschool students work on throughout the school year.
A WES preschool student created the letter A using interlocking blocks. Preschool is designed to develop a child's skills in all of the developmental and academic areas. Preschool helps students be better prepared for Kindergarten.

Today, the Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) program students at Apollo High School had their big reveal of their birdhouse fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity. Through birdhouse sales by local realtors, $7,240 was raised. This money will go to a house being built in Carter Community Court!
DCPS preschool classrooms received tools to implement an Active Calming Center in their classrooms this year. Active Calming helps students improve executive functioning skills. This CHES student is exploring the "Flex It Out" tool during center time.

Through the Local Food for Schools Grant students at CVMS had fresh farm to table burgers for lunch today. This fresh hamburger came from KY Proud partner Beef Solutions, KY.

DCPS proudly announces its annual Arts Festival theme and schedule for 2024. This year's theme is Believe, Belong, Become. Be sure to join us at the Bluegrass Museum on March 19-21st from 4-7:30 PM to check out all of the visual art and performances by our talented students.
March Attendance Madness has begun in DCPS!
To help promote high attendance, we will give away prizes for each level for students who had perfect attendance all month and at each level for students who were at school all day on September 13.
