The DCHS Band of Pride will host a FREE community performance ahead of their Semi-Finals competition this weekend. Come cheer on the band and enjoy their show this year on Tuesday, October 21st at 6:30pm.

DCHS FFA had a great week at the State FFA Convention! Our members had the opportunity to hear first class speakers and participated in several leadership workshops. Congratulations to Carter Crabtree on a first place win in the agriculture mechanics public speaking contest. Carter will represent the state of KY at the National FFA Convention in Oct.

This week, students from the DCHS Dual Credit Veterinary Science class visited Keeneland and the Kentucky Horse Park on a career exploration trip. Students learned more about the history of the equine industry and the countless career opportunities available in the Bluegrass State.
Congratulations to the DCHS FFA Welding Team for a 1st place in the regional contest. Team members were Campbell Crabtree, Carter Crabtree, Ezekiel Payne, and Brennan Pate. Also, a big congratulations to Ben Caldbeck on a 1st place regional win in the tractor driving contest.
Fifty members of the DCHS FFA Chapter, accompanied by 5 of our 8th grade FFA members, participated in the Exploring Agriculture trip last week. Members toured the battlefield at Gettysburg and then went to Hershey, PA, to learn about the life of Milton Hershey and his contributions to the food industry. Students learned about the process in producing all of their iconic sweet products. Members also visited Ohio State University's Waterman Research Farm to tour the commercial greenhouse facilities and learn about the AI technology used to control production in its houses. We made a stop at Young's Jersey Dairy, which has been in production since 1869. All of their products made on site and sold use milk from their own facility. After a quick stop to cheer on the Cincinnati Reds, we visited the Kentucky Horse Park to learn more about the signature industry of the Bluegrass State.
To provide improved visibility and safety for students and families, this weekend's performances of Fiddler on the Roof have been rescheduled as day time shows.
The performances will take place at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 12th and Sunday, April 13th. Adults tickets are $10 and student tickets are $5. All tickets proceeds go directly toward the next collaborative production.
