Summer School

2026 Apollo High School Summer School Information and Expectations/Contract

Students who earned between 64% and 50% in a required course during the school year will be eligible for summer school. If you scored below 50% in a course you would like to complete in summer school, please see Mr. Head for directions on how to apply.

The Apollo Summer School Program will be held at Apollo High School. We will provide four sessions over eight days. Each session provides an opportunity to recover a .5 credit with a final grade of 65% (D-)

Summer School Block 1: May 26th - May 29th

Summer School Block 2: June 1st - June 4th

  • A breakfast snack and lunch will be provided courtesy of the DCPS Summer Feeding Program.

  • Transportation will NOT be provided. 

  • All students will be cleared from the building at 2:40. Staff will not be present to supervise students before 7:30 or after 2:40. Please consider these times when making transportation arrangements. 

Attendance:

  • The student will use the Daviess County Public Schools computer-based credit recovery program, Edmentum.

  • The student must attend the summer school session in which they are registered and be present until the completion of the course.

    • If a student misses a day (for any reason), he or she may be removed from the summer school program.

    • If a student fails to stay on pace to complete the course, he or she may be removed from the summer school program.

Projected Sessions Needed

  • Since spring semester grades will not be finalized until after the last day of school, summer school schedules can not be finalized any sooner; however, see below for an outline of what your student's schedule may look like based on the credits they can recover.

Block 2: AM Session

Students recovering 2.0 credits – Four failed courses that qualify.

Block 2: AM Session AND Block 2: PM Session

Behavioral Expectations:

  • Respect staff, students, and learning environment.

  • Remain engaged and working toward completion of the course – no sleeping or distracting behavior.

  • Adhere to all school policies outlined in the Student Handbook.

  • If a student fails to uphold the behavioral expectations, he or she may be removed from the summer school program.

If you qualify and want to register for summer school, please complete the Google Form by Wednesday, May 11th, 2026. Completing the Google Form indicates you agree to the expectations above and will serve as a contract between Apollo High School, the student, and parents or legal guardians. 

Summer School Registration will remain open past May 11th for students who fail a course this semester.
