Historical day for the Eagles. First, we wanna thank God for this beautiful day on this beautiful lake. Today, at the KHSAA region 1 championship on Lake Barkley, The Apollo fishing teams didn’t just compete, but has two teams going to state this year This is the first time Apollo has had 2 teams qualify for the state championship on 8 - 9 May 2026 at Kentucky Lake. Apollo has made it to the State.
Zach Hedges and Mason Goodall finish fourth place with 15 lbs. 13 oz. They are competing for the second time at state. This is Zach‘s senior year and has been competing since seventh grade.
Mason is also a senior this year.
Lucas Lindsey and Dawson Donahue finished ninth with 12 lbs. 11 oz. This is Lucas Lindsey‘s last year as a senior and has been fishing since seventh grade.
I am so proud that all of our seniors made it to state this year
Anyone that’s helped us through the years know that the regional tournament is one of the toughest challenges of the year. There was 122 boats in this tournament and to qualify fourth place and ninth place is outstanding. That shows us all the hard work that we’ve been putting in for these years has finally paying off. I look forward to The challenge in our state tournament on Kentucky Lake and I wish our team the best. You guys make Apollo proud and you should be proud of your accomplishments.
