Cadet Major Kassi Hirt Selected for Prestigious National Leadership Program.
Cadet Major Kassi Hirt, a standout Junior from KY-071 Apollo High School in Owensboro, Kentucky, was recently selected to participate in a highly competitive, all-expenses-paid, week-long Four-Star Leadership Program with General Tommy Franks, held annually in Oklahoma City, OK. Each year, approximately 75 exceptional Junior and Senior cadets from across the nation are chosen for this prestigious opportunity. Kassi was one of only three Juniors selected—an extraordinary achievement that reflects both her impressive accomplishments and her immense potential as a future leader.
The Leadership Program centers around the four foundational "Stars" of leadership: Character, Common Vision, Communication, and Caring. These pillars align perfectly with Kassi’s demonstrated values and leadership style.
Entering her Junior year with a stellar 4.1 GPA, Cadet Major Hirt serves as the Vice Corps Commander and is actively involved in multiple Leadership Development Requirements (LDRs), including the drill team, archery, marksmanship, and JLAB. Her passion for aviation is equally remarkable—she has already logged several hours toward her Private Pilot’s License, is enrolled in AS 500 (Aviation Honors Ground School), and plans to apply for the Flight Academy Scholarship next month.
Kassi’s aspirations extend beyond high school. She intends to attend the United States Air Force Academy and pursue a career as a fighter pilot upon commissioning. Her dedication, discipline, and embodiment of the core values of Integrity, Service, and Excellence leave no doubt that she will thrive in whatever path she chooses.
