DCPS is kicking off the holiday spirit next week with a district-wide 12 Days of Christmas Dress-Up Days! We encourage all schools and support offices to participate as we countdown to Christmas Break.


This week, we are celebrating a large group of staff who work in our schools together with our school staff, Together for Kids! Thank you to our After-School, Substitute, and Volunteer staff for all you do!


Today, the Kentucky Department of Education announced the recipients of the College Success Award from GreatSchools.org. Daviess County High School has been named one of the 31 high schools in the state of Kentucky. This honor is for public high schools that excel at preparing students to enroll and succeed in college, as determined by available data in each state. Congratulations, DCHS!


As a reminder, DCPS schools and support offices will be closed tomorrow November 5 for Election Day!

This week we are celebrating a team that works together every day to transport our kids to and from school. Thank you to all of our Transportation Staff including drivers, monitors, dispatchers, and mechanics. We appreciate you!


Today, we celebrate all of our Administrators and Leaders across the district! These individuals work to make sure things run smoothly in our buildings so our students can learn every day. Thank you for all you do to work together for kids!


Students in Elementary and Middle School who pack their lunch can now receive up to three free items to accompany their packed lunch.

Daviess County Public Schools and Owensboro Public Schools Boards of Education will host a joint board meeting on Thursday, October 17th at 6pm at the Owensboro Board of Education Office. The Boards will hear from the Kentucky School Boards Association about Amendment 2 which will be on the ballot this election day. This meeting will be open to the public and all are encouraged to attend. There will be no public comment session as this is a special called meeting with no action items. Those in attendance will not be permitted to have signs, shirts, etc. promoting any position related to this ballot measure.


National School Lunch Week is here in DCPS! All of our buildings will be celebrating this week with the nationwide pirate theme. Our schools will be setting sail for a week of delicious meals, fun games, buckets of prizes, and treasures for our students.


DCPS Fall Break is next week October 7-11.
