Today, 1.11.24, materials will be distributed for DCPS@Home (NTI) for this school year. A separate communication will be sent out in the event school is canceled/delayed. The district plans for Grades Pre-K - 5 to utilize the folder sent home for assignments. Grades 6-12 will complete assignments through an online resource that can be found at DCPS.org. All grades can reference their assignments on the district website. As a reminder, as of 1.11.24 0 Snow/NTI days have been called by DCPS.

Today, Jason Goddard was sworn in at the Daviess County Fiscal Courthouse to begin working as a sub-SLEO for the Daviess County Public Schools Police Department. Goddard comes to the DCPS Police Department from the Owensboro Police Department as a retired Sergeant with 21 years of service. Before becoming a Sergeant in 2019, Goddard worked at the street level as an officer along with working in the Juvenile Unit as a Detective. Officer Goddard retired as the Sergeant of the Crime Prevention Unit for OPD where he oversaw special programs including the School Resource Officers (SRO) within the Owensboro Public School System.
Officer Goddard will serve as a sub-officer when others in the police department are out of their buildings and roles for various reasons. Having this additional support will be greatly beneficial to the Police Department along with his years of experience and background.
Outside of law enforcement, he has served as a Daviess County Middle School boys’ assistant soccer coach from 2016-2023 and is a United States Soccer Federation licensed soccer referee. He is happily married wife Stacy and they have two boys, Jackson who is a junior at U of L, and Keaton, who is a senior at Daviess County High School.
We look forward to having him in our buildings and keeping our students and teachers safe!

The DCPS Board of Education has approved an instructional calendar for the 2024-2025 school year. Families are reminded to avoid potential make-up days when scheduling vacations etc.

AHS and DCHS Student Councils are proud to present this year's DCPS 12 Days of Christmas! All schools are encouraged to participate to help spread holiday cheer leading up to Christmas Break.

Last week, students from Apollo and Daviess County High who are in the academic career exploration program at the HBCU showcase in Louisville KY. Students participated in various breakouts ranging from ACT Test Prep, and the HBCU experience to the Kentucky Scholars program. In addition, students could talk with college representatives from nearly 20 HBCU's including fraternities and sororities.
