Brian Payne has been named the new district Computer Operations Manager and Co-Chief Information Officer following the retirement of the previous manager, Steve Burton, who is retiring on September 1.
Payne’s responsibilities in the role will include overseeing the district's technology operations while helping lead strategic technology initiatives that support the educational mission of Daviess County Public Schools.
Payne currently serves as District Tech Level III - the highest level requiring multiple industry certifications- a role he has served in for the past 28 years with Daviess County Public Schools. In this position, he expanded his day-to-day technical support responsibilities by helping lead key technology initiatives across the district that have kept the school district a technology leader while ensuring safety remains a top priority.
Payne said the following about the new role: “I've been fortunate to work with Steve Burton for the past 27 years," Payne said. "I'm grateful for his mentorship, and I look forward to building on the strong foundation he established while continuing to serve our students, staff, and community with secure, reliable, and effective technology."
