Daviess County Public Schools (DCPS) is pleased to announce continued support through a generous grant from Cargill, totaling in $20,000, allowing the district’s school-based food pantry program to continue serving students and families across all school locations. This renewed funding ensures that the important work of providing reliable access to nutritious food will continue without interruption. Administered through each school's Family Resource and Youth Services Center (FRYSC), the grant will help sustain ongoing efforts to support families in need and strengthen the well-being of the DCPS community.

“We are incredibly grateful to Cargill for its continued investment in our students, families, and schools," said Dr. April Devine, Assistant Superintendent of Human Services for Daviess County Public Schools. "This renewed support allows us to continue providing access to nutritious food and essential resources through our school-based food pantries. By helping meet the basic needs of our students and families, we can ensure that children are better prepared to learn, grow, and succeed both in and out of the classroom. Partnerships like this strengthen our entire community and reinforce our commitment to supporting the whole child. This community partnership is exactly what DCPS is all about, working Together for Kids!”

The school-based food pantries will continue to offer a variety of non-perishable food items and essential household supplies, ensuring that students and families have dependable access to the resources they need. Through the continuation of this initiative, DCPS remains committed to removing barriers to learning by addressing basic needs and creating a supportive environment where every student can succeed and thrive.

Through the ongoing efforts of the Family Resource and Youth Services Centers (FRYSCs), school staff, community partners, and volunteers will continue working together to manage and support the pantries, ensuring that students and families receive assistance with efficiency, respect, and dignity. The continuation of this program reflects DCPS’s commitment to supporting the whole child by addressing both academic success and overall well-being.
