Daviess County Public Schools is proud to announce that two outstanding educators from Meadow Lands Elementary and Apollo High School have been recognized with Western Kentucky University's (WKU) Distinguished Educator Awards. These prestigious awards celebrate excellence and innovation in education, and this year, Daviess County Public Schools is home to winners in two distinct categories:
Amy Bell for Teacher Mentor (MLES) and Lauren Goffinet for Belonging (AHS).
Dr. Sue Keesey, Director of the WKU School of Teacher Education, along with Dr. Marguerita DeSander, Director of the WKU School of Leadership and Professional Studies surprised the two winners with their awards at their respective schools.
Dr. Keesey commented, saying, “It is an honor to travel throughout Kentucky celebrating outstanding educators such as Ms. Bell and Ms. Goffinet. They are shining examples of the amazing professionals in Daviess County and throughout our schools. ”
