Mr. Bob W. Dych has been named the new Director of Secondary Schools for Daviess County Public Schools, as the previous director, Jennifer Crume, retires on May 31.
Mr. Dych’s responsibilities will include providing support as well as operational and technical assistance for instructional improvement to administrators and teachers at all DCPS middle and high schools, as well as programs at Valley School, Owensboro Day Treatment, and the Virtual Academy.
Mr. Dych currently serves as Principal at Apollo High School, a role he has held since 2022. Prior to serving as Principal, Mr. Dych served as Assistant Principal at Apollo High School. Mr. Dych started his career in education as a Social Studies teacher at Daviess County High School in January of 2000.
Dych received a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1999 and then a Master of Arts in Education Administration and Leadership in 2008, all from Western Kentucky University.
Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Jana Beth Francis, said, “I’m excited Mr. Dych will be joining the Office of Teaching and Learning team at the district office. He brings a wealth of knowledge and practical expertise on school improvement.”
Mr. Dych said the following: “It has been an honor and a privilege to serve students, staff, and families at the school level, and I look forward to continuing that service as the Director of Secondary Schools.”
