This will serve as a quasi-running blog of updates on the Superintendent Search process for Daviess County Public Schools.
As of February 21, 2024, the following steps have been taken:
January 19, 2024: DCPS Board of Education approves and signs a contract with the Kentucky School Board Association to facilitate the search process.
January 22, 2024: The DCPS Board of Education hosted a special called board luncheon to serve as the planning meeting for the Superintendent Search.
At this meeting, the board agreed on the following:
The application for the position will open on January 24, 2024 and will close on February 25, 2024.
February 27, 2024: Joint Meeting of Board and Screening Committee
March 5, 2024: 2nd Screening Committee Meeting
March 18, 2024: 3rd Screening Committee Meeting
March 21, 2024: Joint Meeting of Board and Screening Committee
March 25-29, 2024: Board Interviews Candidates
April 15, 2024 New Superintendent Named
January 25, 2024: Certified and Classified nomination forms were sent to all staff, the nomination form closes on Friday, February 2 at 4:30 PM. Ballots will be at buildings the following week.
February 7, 2024: Ballots were delivered to all buildings to vote for certified and classified staff. Voting ends at end of day February 14, 2024.
February 19-20, 2024: Nominations were taken from parents for a Minority Parent Representative.
February 21, 2024: Ballots were created and sent to schools for parent voting at their school on February 22, 2024.
February 27, 2024: The first joint meeting of the Board of Education and Screening Committee was held.
March 5, 2024: The 2nd meeting of the Superintendent Screening Committee met in closed session, no action was taken.
March 18, 2024: The 3rd meeting of the Superintendent Screening Committee met in closed session, no action was taken.
