DCPS families -

At the recommendation of Gov. Andy Beshear and in consultation with the Kentucky Department of Education, the Daviess County Public Schools district will remain closed through Friday, May 1. All activities and events will also remain closed/cancelled, and Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) will continue throughout this period.

As of now, schools are scheduled to open with regular classes resuming on Monday, May 4.

The last day of school is still currently set for Friday, May 15. Decisions regarding graduation and other events will be announced as soon as possible in cooperation with recommendations from local and state health agencies. Please know we are working diligently to determine the best courses of action given the unprecedented situation in which we find ourselves.

I want to take this opportunity to say "Thank you" to our dedicated teachers and staff who have worked so hard to provide meaningful learning experiences for our students during this time, as well as those who have continued to prepare and serve nutritious meals (visit www.dcps.org for serving schedule and locations). And a very special word of THANKS to parents and families for your support of NTI. One of the greatest lessons our children will learn through this experience is the knowledge of how much their families value education and learning.

We are looking forward to returning to school and seeing our students and staff together again as soon as it is deemed safe to do so. Until that happy day arrives, please continue to stay safe and well.

Sincerely -

Matt Robbins

DCPS Superintendent
