DCPS KIDS FIRST TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARDS

DCPS Kids First Teacher of the Year Award nominations are being accepted now through Feb. 14. 

We believe great teachers are:

  • Committed to a Growth Mindset
  • Dedicated to Communication with All Groups
  • Knowledgeable About Content

If you know a DCPS teacher who puts “Kids First” in these important areas, please complete a brief 
nomination form, providing a one- or two-sentence example about how your nominee demonstrates any two of the characteristics listed above. Your gift of five minutes will reward a teacher for a lifetime! 

DCPS will recognize Teachers of the Year at each of three levels: Elementary, middle and high school. These individuals will also represent our district as nominees for state-level Teacher of the Year honors.

DCPS KIDS FIRST SUPPORT STAFF AWARDS

Customer Service and Support Professional Awards 

DCPS Kids First Support Staff Awards recognize outstanding members of our classified team whose 
contributions make the success of our district – and our students – possible. There are two separate awards in this category. Winners will advance as our district’s nominees for statewide honors. The nomination deadline for these awards is Monday, Feb. 14. 


DCPS Kids First Customer Service Award nominees should process a trademark spirit of service, innovation and commitment to others in a way that positively impacts the lives of those in the school community. The DCPS Kids First Support Professional Award will honor members of the support staff who are exceptional at their jobs and provide exceptional support to students and/or staff. Click HERE to nominate a DCPS support staff employee for the Kids First Support Professional Award!
