Dual Credit Students,

You have received THIS LETTER - PLEASE READ IT because you are enrolled in some kind of dual credit course at or through OCTC.

Engineering, Life Science Academy, Early College, Technical and general Dual Credit students all received this communication from DCPS college and career readiness coordinator Amanda Jerome on March 13, 2020.

The Daviess County Public Schools district will be closed from Monday, March 16, through Sunday, April 5, with the hopes of reopening as normal on Monday, April 6. DCPS will begin Non-Traditional Instruction in all of our classes, starting on Wednesday, March 18.  Students who take courses (Early College, Technical, General Dual Credit) will be required to follow OCTC's plan to get through this time frame. A SNAP alert was sent on March 13 with information about closures for Monday and Tuesday, March 16-17, and a plan to go mostly online beginning Wednesday, March 18. Some labs and shop classes will still meet in person. Be sure you are aware of your requirements.

Life Science Academy will not meet in person again until April 6. All students and parents in that academy received an email from Dr. Wilkerson with information on virtual assignments. If you have questions specifically about LSA, please email Dr. Wilkerson or Mr. Morris.

Engineering Academy will not meet in person until April 6. Students will be assigned work from Mr. May and Mr. Leohr, be sure to stay up to date on emails from these instructors and if you have questions about Engineering, be sure to email either Mr. May or Mr. Leohr.

Just a reminder that all dual credit grades are recorded onto your high school transcript, and in many cases, they are counting as a graduation requirement. It is important to keep up with your work. Email your instructors and reach out if you need help figuring out a situation in the next three weeks. I will be working each day until Spring Break (March 28-April 5). Do not hesitate to email or call the DCPS Central Office at 270-852-7000 if I can help you in some capacity. Please be proactive in this situation, not reactive. Your courses and grades are extremely important.

Thank you,

Thank you,

Amanda D. Jerome
