DRIVERS EDUCATION PROGRAM 2021
at Daviess County High School
June 1 – June 18, 2021
8 to 11:30 a.m.
The Drivers Education enrichment class will be filled on a first-come first-served basis. Students must be at least 16 years old and have a driver’s permit to enroll in this class.
Registration is on-line at www2.dcps.org/summer/ beginning Monday, April 26 and will close on Friday, May 21. There is a $100 registration fee. No refunds will be made for students who begin this class and then drop from the program.
**MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 12 STUDENTS ENROLLED TO HOLD THE CLASS AND A MAXIMUM OF 18 STUDENTS**
This enrichment class does not count toward graduation requirements or as part of the student’s GPA.
Payment of $100 made payable to Daviess County Public Schools should be mailed to Alexa Woosnam at Daviess County Public Schools, 1622 Southeastern Parkway, Owensboro, KY 42303. Payment should be mailed on the date that on-line registration is completed.
- Students will meet on site at Daviess County High School from 8 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1 for in-class activities and on Friday, June 18, to complete a final exam. Students will be assigned written work to complete outside of class and must have internet access to be able to complete assignments.
- A driving schedule will be shared with students on June 1. From June 2 to June 17, students will be required to attend class only on the days that they are assigned to drive.
- Students must bring their driver’s permits with them to class each day.
Rules and Procedures
The following are discipline and attendance requirements for all students.
Attendance: All students are required to attend on Tuesday, June 1 for completion of in-class written activities and on Friday, June 18 to take a final exam. A driving schedule will be developed for the remainder of the class sessions and students will be advised of the dates they need to attend to drive.
Tardy: Being seated after 8 a.m. or leaving before 11:30 a.m. on June 1 and June 18 is not acceptable.
Arrival/Departure: Students should be dropped off and picked up in the front of Daviess County School main entrance. Class will be held in DCHS media center.
Dress Code: The DCPS dress code will be enforced.
Classroom Behavior: Students are expected to be cooperative and productive. Students violating the DCPS Student Code of Conduct may be exited from the program.
