DCPS Guiding Principles

The Daviess County Public Schools district puts KIDS FIRST in every decision we make.

The safety, health and long-term welfare of students and employees are fundamental to our roles as school officials.

Our community expects that we will provide a world-class education for their children, delivered by the best possible teachers and supported through caring and effective leadership.

All means ALL. Whatever it takes to ensure that we provide a high-quality educational experience for every child, every day, we must do.

The value of an employee has nothing to do with their position, level of education or salary, and everything to do with their willingness and ability to serve.

Trust is built when decision making includes honest and open dialogue with those who may be impacted by the decision. Trust ends when decisions are made without gathering or valuing the input of others.

We must be effective stewards of hard-earned taxpayer money, granted by consent.

We must approach everything we do with a “servant’s heart.”
