Schoolwide Title I Program

Last Updated: 8/16/2021 5:46 PM

Whiteville Elementary is eligible and receives federal funds under Title I regulations. Title I funds are distributed to all students in the country that do not meet an income threshold. With 51.03% of students at WES, this number exceeds the district average of 40%, so our school has a school wide program for the use of these funds. This allows for ALL students to benefit from these funds, regardless of income. We will be utilizing these funds this year to support interventions in reading, math, and social and emotional needs of students. Additional supports from Title I funds include

  • technology to enhance instruction
  • iReady intervention software
  • student books for reading, phonics, math, science, social students, and leadership
  • professional development to improve engagement for all students
  • class size reduction
  • staffing support for small groups and one on one instruction
