Boys Basketball Try-outs

Boys Basketball try-outs will be held October 15, October 16 and October 17 from 3:30-6:00.  Any 6th, 7th or 8th grade boys interested in trying-out must have a KHSAA MIddle School Physical Form completed and turned in to the coach before trying-out. 

Girls Basketball Try-outs

BMS Girls Basketball Try-outs will be October 1, October 2 & October 3 from 3:30-5:30.  Any girl wishing to try-out must have a KHSAA Middle School Physcial Form completed and turned in to Coach Henry.

BMS Wins Attendance Awards

Burns Middle School has won the attendance award for DCPS middle school for the month of August with an average attendance of 97.45%!!!

Burns Middle School has also won the attendance award for high attendance day for DCPS middle schools with an average attendance of 99.01% on September 18th!!!!!

DCPS Welcomes New Technology Integration Specialists

DCPS Board of Education meeting time CHANGED

The DCPS Board of Education will meet at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at the Central Office. This is a CHANGE from the original meeting time of 6 p.m. The DCPS Finance Corporation will meet at 4:30 p.m.

K-Prep Testing Dates

The DCPS Board of Education is hosting a “Community Conversation” forum at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at the DCPS Central Office, 1622 Southeastern Parkway.

These events are scheduled twice a year, providing all members of the community a special opportunity to address the Board with any questions or comments you might have.

DCPS dismissed one hour early

DCPS will dismiss one hour early today - Friday, Feb. 14.
Elementary schools will be dismissed starting at 1:15 p.m.
Middle and high schools will be dismissed starting at 2:15 p.m.


BMS 8th Grade Lady Foxes basketball team won the MWKAC Championship on Wednesday night as they defeated Owensboro Catholic 52-30 at Daviess County Middle School.  They also won the City-County Championship this year as they went undefeated against all the city-county schools.  Congratulations Lady Foxes on winning the championship and earning the City-County title!

It is time for the BMS "Stash Bash!"  Let's see if we can get everyone here for 100% attendance and then let's see if we can get a moustache on everyone!  We may even have some blue or yellow moustaches - I wonder if Mr. Ferguson and Mr. Shadowen will be able to grow a "stash."  What will they look like with a "stash" or will they will even have one.  Make plans to be a part of the 100% attendance day club by showing up and finding out!!!

Professional Day

The BMS 8th grade football team remained undefeated as they beat Henderson South 16-0 on Thursday, September 11th.  

The Burns 8th grade team won 16-0 in a hard fought battle with Henderson South. The offense was led by Colby Clark and Tre Sanders. Colby Clark had a long touchdown pass to Kobe Hamilton. The defense totaled three interceptions last night with Noah Stewart having two, and Gage Hayden getting the other interception. Go Foxes!!!

The BMS 7th grade football team lost a tough battle against the Bulldogs of Henderson South - 16-6.
