DCPS Superintendent named 2016 Kentucky Superintendent of the Year

DCHS Veterans Day Program

DCHS will host a Veterans Day ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the main gymnasium. The program will include presentation of colors, remarks by keynote speaker; MSG Shown, and presentation of flags representing branches of the military. Following remarks by the keynote speaker, the DCHS Navy JROTC will perform the POW-MIA “remembrance table” ceremony, a meaningful and touching ceremony that will remind those in attendance of those whose service to our country resulted in their status as Prisoners of War or Missing in Action.  All Veterans are invited to a free breakfast provided by the DCHS cafeteria staff beginning at 7:40 in the school cafeteria.

  • Picture Day is Wednesday, September 16. You can order online now. Go to mylifetouch.com, enter picture day ID: EL215059Y0, order with either Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express and print the receipt to give to the photographer on picture day. To order packages with the paper order form, be sure to include a check or cash in the exact amount duePhotographers do not carry change. Packages range from $8-$24.50 with multiple add-on and sheet options.
  • Senior Picture Retake Day is also Wednesday, Sept. 16. Males should wear a white or light colored t-shirt since they will be wearing a white dress shirt, tux jacket and bow tie. Females should wear a camisole since they will wear a drape that hangs off of their shoulders. Senior yearbook portraits will be mailed home in the form of proofs. You are not required to purchase these pictures to be in the yearbook’s senior portraits section. However, you may choose to purchase them if you so wish.

Hour of Code

Computer science is the art of blending human ideas and digital tools to increase our power. Computer scientists work in so many different areas: writing apps for phones, curing diseases, creating animated movies, working on social media, building robots that explore other planets and so much more. The Hour of Code is an international effort to bring student awareness to computer science while having a little bit of fun.

Senior Picnic Reschedule

The DCHS senior picnic for today has been cancelled because of weather. It will now be Thursday, June 4th, from 9-12 at Atlantis Swim Club. 

Freshman Orientation Cancelled

Freshman orientation that was scheduled for this Friday, August 7, has been canceled due to ongoing construction.  Freshmen can still come in to pay fees and pick up a schedule, but there will be no parent meeting or student orientation.  All important information that freshmen need to know will be shared with students on the first day of school.  We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday, August 12!

AP Exam Registration for Daviess County High School


Begins January 15th at 8:00 A.M. and closes on March 3rd at 8:00 A.M.
The cost is $91.00 per AP Exam. 
Once registration is complete, students will need to print a copy of the confirmation page. (This link is located at the bottom of the registration screen - Print and Save your Registration Confirmation Page (.pdf))
You will print the registration form and return it with parent/guardian signature and payment to Kris Shaw in Guidance.

2015-2016 New KHSAA Physical Form

Parents of High School Athletes,

The KHSAA has adopted new physical forms for the 2015-2016 school year. There are separate Parental Consent forms for middle school athletics and high school athletics. GE04 – is the parent permission form for high school level play (freshman, JV, varsity), and is signed by both the student and the parents. Any middle school student playing up at the high school level will be required to turn in a GEO4 along with the new physical form (PPEF). It is very important that any NEW physical for your child must be completed on this form.   This new physical form (PPEF) contains a section that is to be completed by the family with health history information, and on the back side, the new physician clearance form.  This standard form replaces all prior versions of the physical form. The link below contains both forms (GE04 & PPEF) for students participating at the HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL (freshman, jv, varsity). Students and parents may also pick up a copy of the new form in the DCHS Athletic Office.

Seven specialized camps are open to ALL students entering grades 4-8 next year (not limited to DCPS students). 

2015-16 Laptops Can't Install Games or Music Players

Students in all four high school grades will not be able to install Minecraft, RealMedia Player, Spotify, or other non-school related programs. 

If you feel the new policy is too restrictive, you should consider bringing your own device (BYOD).

Panthers Baseball & Lady Panthers Softball Senior Recognition

The Panthers Baseball Team will be recognizing our Senior Baseball Players Tuesday, May 12th during our game with Hancock County. Recognition will take place after completion of the JV game which starts at 4:30 p.m.

The Lady Panthers Softball Team will be recognizing our Senior Softball Players Wednesday May 6th during our game with Heritage Hills High School. Senior Recognition will take place after the 5:30 Varsity game and prior to the 7:00 JV game.
