DCPS Welcomes New Technology Integration Specialists

Two DCPS faculty members have been selected to provide various levels of support to other teachers with integrating technology.

Preschool Orientation is set for Wednesday, August 6 at 5:30 at Highland.  Come learn about preschool at Highland and handle paperwork for the year.  Meet our preschool teachers and assistants and start the year off with a BUZZ.

Free Ebooks for Summer Reading!

Courtesy of myON, Kentucky students have access to free ebooks for summer reading.  Go to www.myon.com, click on the red "Log-in" button, type "KY Reads" in the School Name field and you will see KY Reads, Kentucky Department of Education in the drop-down menu which you will select. Username and password are both "read". Click the sign-in button and enjoy! 

Stop the Summer Slide!

First and Second Grade Field Trip POSTPONED

Due to the inclement weather forecast for tomorrow, the first and second grade field trip to Mesker Park Zoo has been POSTPONED until FRIDAY, MAY 16TH.

REVISED 2014-2015 school calendar

DCPS Board of Education meeting time CHANGED

The DCPS Board of Education will meet at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at the Central Office. This is a CHANGE from the original meeting time of 6 p.m. The DCPS Finance Corporation will meet at 4:30 p.m.

DCPS Board approves revised calendar Calendar

The DCPS Board of Education has approved a revised instructional calendar for the 2013-14 school year. The last day of school for students is Friday, May 30.

DCPS Board to host Community Conversation comcon

The DCPS Board of Education is hosting a “Community Conversation” forum at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at the DCPS Central Office, 1622 Southeastern Parkway.

These events are scheduled twice a year, providing all members of the community a special opportunity to address the Board with any questions or comments you might have.

DCPS will dismiss one hour early today - Friday, Feb. 14.
Elementary schools will be dismissed starting at 1:15 p.m.
Middle and high schools will be dismissed starting at 2:15 p.m.

Regional Archery Tournament - POSTPONED

Due to inclement weather, the 3rd Region Archery Tournament in Meade County has been POSTPONED.  Efforts are being made to reschedule the event.  If your child is part of the HES regional archery team, Mr. Howard will contact you next week when we return to school with updated tournament information.

Attention all Highland Families:  Due to school closing and the inclement weather headed our way, tonight's Daddy/Daughter Valentine Dance has been POSTPONED until Wednesday, February 5th from 5:30-7:00.  Please help spread the word!
