"Kiss the Gift" Change Drive Raises over $1700!

Every year, the Family Resource Center at Highland has a change drive competition to raise money to help less fortunate families during the Christmas season.  This year the theme was “Kiss the Mystery Gift”.  The classrooms that raised the most money “elected” their homeroom teacher to kiss a gift.  On Monday, January 10,  the gift Penelope was presented for kissing during morning assembly.  Mrs. Quinton, Mrs. Cindy Warren, and Mrs. Peveler won the honor of making the kiss.  The gift was a 60 pound black hair miniature pig.  The students roared with laughter as the three teachers kissed Penelope.  The school raised more than $1,700 to help others during the Christmas season.  Together we are better. Thanks to Mrs. Rheonna Johnson for bringing Penelope to Highland for the event.
