HES Fourth Graders Service Learning Project Canned Food Donation

Our amazing 4th graders and HES Staff worked together to collect over 400 cans for the New Life Food Pantry!

Also, HES 4th grade students and families served at the  New Life Community Meal on Thursday, March 9th.  Students and parents brought crafts and worked with children that attended the meals.  They also helped serve the meal and clean up while learning much of what it takes to prepare a community meal.  It was a great experience for all—a real WIN-WIN!

HES Fifth Grade Service Project Collects over 2500 Items! Thanks

Our Fifth Grade students set the example for the rest of our building with their service learning project by collecting over 2500 items for the Archangel Troop 1-32 Cavalry, 101st Airborne, Fort Campbell, KY. Items collected included hand sanitizer, tissues, toiletries, movies (DVDs), books, magazines, gum, lip balm, and sunscreen.  To make it a Win-Win for everyone, students earned a  FREE PJ Day on Friday, February 10th for donating one or more items to our project!  On top of that, the classroom with the most items collected will have a FREE electronics time scheduled for their homeroom.  Thanks to our families for supporting our fifth graders!  Way to go, Hornets!!!
